I was born in Harrow, Middlesex. Much of my childhood was spent drawing, painting or making my own books. I also loved to create plasticine worlds full of plasticine people, no detail was too small! After doing a foundation course at Harrow College of Art she went on to study for a degree course in Graphics and Illustration at Kingston Polytechnic. After graduating I worked for the newly formed Walker Books whose office at that time comprised two small rooms near Oxford Street.
I was a designer who wanted to be an illustrator so I left my secure job to work freelance. I've since worked at different desks, in various locations but love the freedom to put down pencil and go for a walk when the mood takes me, or work all night if necessary. I've collaged and painted my wat through twenty five years of boo illustration. My companions along the way have been a series of various house rabbits, who have subsequently been replaced by a husband and three children, two girls and a boy. We live on a hill in Guildford close to the Downs where I like to walk and think, when deadlines allow.
