After a foundation year at Central School of Art, Claire studied Graphic Design at Kingston University before going to the Royal College of Art to specialise in Illustration.

Claire was awarded The Mother Goose Award for best newcomer for her illustrations in THE SEA SHELL SONG, her first book for children published in 1993. She has been illustrating ever since.

Claire lives in Hastings and exhibits her paintings at Made in Hastings, a shop that she runs with four other artists.
