Lesley was born in Germany on a British military base and came to England when she was two. Moving to different parts of the country throughout her childhood, her most treasured reference point became the public library. Reading, writing and drawing were her favourite occupations and she was determined that she would pursue these when she grew up.
Apart from a brief course at Art College when she was seventeen, Lesley didn’t return to studying Illustration until she had a grown up family. She has worked continuously since leaving Chelsea School of Art fifteen years ago.
