Sarah McConnell

Sarah grew up in the Leicestershire countryside and spent her childhood drawing on every surface she could find; from the footpath in her garden to the tiny books that she liked to make.  She has always been interested in the way that images can suggest stories and went on to study Illustration at Cambridge School of Art, later completing a Masters in Illustration at the University of Brighton where she produced four books, two of which were later published.

Sarah has been working professionally for over ten years, both writing and illustrating picture books and young fiction with clients in the UK and US.

Sarah now lives in Nottingham with her partner, Rich, who is a musician.  She works on picture books in her studio which sits on a hill overlooking the city.
