Christine Morton-Shaw

Christine Morton-Shaw was born in Blackburn, Lancashire. Her first accepted piece of writing was an article written at the age of twelve.  She went on to gain an MA from Sheffield Hallam University in Creative Writing and after selling a short mini-play to the BBC, she decided to leave teaching to concentrate on writing.  She won a computer in Cosmopolitan’s NEW JOURNALIST OF THE YEAR AWARD and this gave her the impetus to keep trying to write in a more organised fashion.

Christine plays league poker to relax and reads copiously – especially diaries and play scripts. She communicates with her children and friends using LUMIC, the invented cipher from THE RIDDLES OF EPSILON - handy for anything secretive. She also writes backwards fluently and completes her own diary in that manner.
