Beth has lived in a houseboat, a Bavarian castle and a barn. As a child she went everywhere on her bike looking for adventures. She never found any, so she made up stories about what she wished had happened.
At university she studied psychology and sociology and discovered that myths and legends are important - not just children's tales. After three years as a graphic artist in the Netherlands and Germany, Beth worked as a newspaper journalist, ending up as a local radio producer and a feelance broadcaster for the BBC.
Beth began writing stories for her own children to encourage them to read and her first novel was published in 1992. She now lives with two demanding cats overlooking the Quantock Hills in Somerset.
