Marion was born in Scotland and grew up in Cumbria. She graduated in English Literature and then travelled before starting work for a London publisher as a copywriter and editor. It wasn’t long before she started writing for children herself.
Her first novel ‘CIRCLES IN THE CORN’ was shortlisted for the Kathleen Fidler Award. She went on to write a number of picture books: ‘GEORGIE AND THE DRAGON’ was highly recommended in the Red House Children’s Book Awards and ‘FAIRY TALE SECRETS’ was shortlisted for the Nottingham Book Awards.
Marion lives with her husband, son and their giant cat in North London where she spends her time writing and doing ‘bookish’ things. She enjoys meeting her young audience on regular school visits. For over fourteen years she has hosted the group of authors called Islington Writers for Children, which meets fournightly to read aloud and comment on each other’s work.
