Jason Cockcroft

Jason was born in Auckland, New Zealand, and whilst still a baby his family returned to Leeds.  As a boy he read nothing but comics, and became infatuated with the characters and stories from publications such as Marvel, D.C. Comics and 2000AD.  He moved to Cornwall to attend art college and graduated from Falmouth School of Art in 1994.

He has illustrated picture books for Bloomsbury, Hodder, Oxford University Press, Orchard Books and Frances Lincoln in the UK and Henry Holt, Dutton, Alfred A. Knopf and Margaret McElderry Books in the United States.  He has also illustrated the three most recent UK editions in the Harry Potter series.

In 2009 his first children’s novel, COUNTER CLOCKWISE, was published in the US by HarperCollins.

He now lives in North Yorkshire with his wife, Lisa and their two cats.
