Jason has worked as a full-time illustrator since graduating from Falmouth School of Art & Design in 1994. His work was first spotted by Eunice in the Macmillan Children's Book Award during his final year at college and he has since worked consistently.

He works primarily in acrylic and watercolour for his picture books but also enjoys doing book jackets (he did the most recent Harry Potter) and black and white illustration in pencil and ink for older children's fiction. His hobbies include reading and walking and he lives in a beautiful part of Yorkshire with his wife, Lisa, and Polly, their cat.
