Claire Fletcher graduated from The Royal College of Art in 1990, with distinction in her masters degree. Her first book, The Sea-Shell Song, with text by Susie Jenkin Pearce, was the winner of the 1993 Mother Goose Award for best newcomer.

The Wind Garden, text by Angela McAllister was shortlisted for the 1994 Smarties Prize.

Claire's work has been exhibited many times, culminating in a one woman show in 1998 in London. Recently Claire has spent time developing a new style of artwork as you can see from the illustrations alongside.
